Greetings to all (The Path Without Resistance)

Good day, DAO members,

For those who don’t know me yet, my “introduction” and “experience-report” might be helpful.

Below is a brief email correspondence that I had from March 31, 2025 to April 2, 2025 with one of the members of this forum who allowed me to share our messages here and whose nickname will be kept anonymous as I have requested (and which fortunately had already been considered by this member as well).
As the questions from “H” (nickname withheld) were well-written and very pertinent, I hope they will be useful to everyone in similar situations.
Staying on the “plateau” is no longer an option!
Warm regards,
PWR

Hello PWR,
Hope you’re doing well. I am part of the actualism forum, and I’d like to know more about the Path Without Resistance. I am currently reading Lisa Feldman Barret’s book to understand her view on how emotions are created, and I find it quite fascinating. Could you give me tips on how to apply this to get rid of ‘me’?
Also, could you tell me more about your own process of making a method to free yourself from the human condition, and about how you experience life now? I’m very interested in all I can learn about the PWR.
Thank you very much.
H.

Greetings, H.
Nice nickname!
I’m safe and sound, thank you.
As for Ms. Barret and the other neuroscientists, biologists, and writers on the list I recommended in my first post on Discuss.Actualism.Online (DAO), read their works cum grano salis, because each author has their own agenda and bias.
The AF website has valuable information that helped me a lot in the beginning of my research and testing. I see no problem in you continuing to study Richard’s articles and correspondence. Contrary to what the DAO moderators accuse me of, I am all for reading with eyes wide open as many articles and correspondence archived on that pioneering site as possible.
You wrote that you are interested in learning more about the method of the path without resistance, but you did not explain why you are interested. Could you explain the reasons that motivated you to become interested in the path without resistance?
I look forward to your feedback.
Sincerely,
PWR, or you can just call me Pi.

Thanks for the prompt answer, Pi!
My interest in the path without resistance stems from my desire to stop suffering. It’s the same reason why I first got interested in spirituality, and then, in actualism. I am in no way dogmatic by nature, so I’m always curious about more effective ways of becoming actually free. I’ve had PCEs in the past (although I haven’t had one for at least two years now, maybe more) and since then I’ve been reading about actualism and doing my best to apply the method (enjoying and appreciating this moment of being alive).
Since I haven’t had any PCEs for so long, I kind of feel I am at a plateau. If there’s a way to make progress, I’d like to hear about it. That’s why I’m very much interested in your experience, and the method you created for yourself.
Sincerely,
H.

Good day, H.
There are two types of suffering: physical and psychological.
There can be many causes for physical suffering, and most of them can be treated and remedied or endured. On the other hand, normotic psychological suffering has only one cause: the cluster of identities that make up the ego.
The body no longer needs a self, an ego, an “I”.
This imaginary “I” has become redundant and burdensome for brain functions, causing enormous distress to the nervous system.
This distress is psychological suffering affecting the physical body in a process of chronic deterioration.
And no one deserves such a fate.
The solution I found after ten years of investigating this and other related topics was even simpler:
What was sustaining this legion of identities and preventing the body’s natural balance were “my” unresolved objections.
No objections, no resistance.
The path is always open, only “you” are the barrier that narrows it.
So, to simplify, what “I” did was make a list of the objections that “I” had to not stop feeding “my” inner minotaurs. Without food, everything dies.
I hope this brief description of some of the principles of the path without resistance will be useful to you.
All the best,
Pi

Good day, Pi.
Thank you for the description of your process. So essentially, you made a list of your objections, and saw how without these objections, the selves that made up your ego ‘starved’ to death? Did it take long for the whole process to end? Can you tell me more about how the process went, from writing the list of objections to the objections disappearing? Did you have to ‘see the silliness’ of each objection?
Thank you for taking the time to write about this,
H.

Thank you for the description of your process.

— You are welcome.

So essentially, you made a list of your objections, and saw how without these objections, the selves that made up your ego ‘starved’ to death?

— Essentially, yes. It may seem simple, but it took several years of trial and error to reach this conclusion: only after ALL objections were resolved (thanks to reading dozens of books, articles, essays and theses related to brain science and subjective consciousness, among other topics such as paleontology, language and semantics), the process of depriving the ego of fuel was possible. As explained, discovering that the path to the new pure consciousness had no resistance except “myself” was what encouraged “me” to investigate and find one of the best ways to extinguish the ego and the psyche. I do not rule out the possibility of other techniques, and that is why I always encourage each person to seek or create other alternatives for themselves.

The ultimate goal, to live free from the old subjective one-sided consciousness and its consequences (the so-called “human condition”), is both the beginning and the means of any method of actualism.

Did it take long for the whole process to end?

— Once discovered, the path without resistance became my only guide, virtual freedom occurred naturally and in less than three years actual freedom was achieved (in synaptic terms). The more excess baggage accumulated, the more time will be spent clearing that mindspace and expelling the imaginary beings hidden there.

Can you tell me more about how the process went, from writing the list of objections to the objections disappearing?

— “I” found all “MY” own objections, even if some of them were objections shared by other people and avoided the common traps that most actualists and even actually free men and women still fall into (some of which I have already pointed out in DAO).

The next step was to give a rational answer to each of those personal objections. And for that, it was crucial to define three key words: “Exist” (or “Actual”), “Object” and “Concept”. Thanks to the rational definitions of these three words, it was also possible to define consciousness, ego, psyche, body, intelligence, life, thought, mind, instinct, emotion, time, universe, actual freedom, actual world and other treacherous and ambiguous terms.

As a result, it became increasingly easier and faster to give a rational answer to each of the objections on that list.

In the end, the intellectual limits of the rational were surpassed and my method became supra-rational. Contrary to Vineeto’s definition, supra-rational is simply understanding that we will never have a perfectly rational answer to space and the fundamental matter of which atoms are made, much less their origin. This is one of the reasons that “pure intent,” the life force that animates living beings revealed exclusively to native intelligence, continues to confuse the sincerest and intellectually privileged practitioners. Everything is interconnected in this material universe; all you have to do is exert your willpower to stop believing in something that does not exist even though it is happening.

Did you have to ‘see the silliness’ of each objection?

— Yes, but ready-made answers did not help at all. It was vital to find the most sensible answers by “my"” own efforts. In the end, the objections that were barriers served as steppingstones to the next evolutionary level of living full-time and forever pure consciousness.

Dear H.
I am fully convinced that you will slowly analyze these basic principles before applying them, adapting them, testing them, refining them and repeating the process until you reach your conclusion. And your destiny.
The freedom of one is the freedom of all!
My only warning, which you may or may not accept, is that you remain anonymous before, during and at the end of this process.
This does not mean that you cannot help others if you have the willingness and resources for such mentoring. In this era of global communication in which English has become the official language, it is perfectly possible to help others from a distance without revealing yourself in the flesh to everyone. This will avoid attacks and aggressions that could compromise your health and safety. Remember: we live with hundreds of people every day, and the vast majority will react negatively to your new condition because they will feel dangerously threatened. And they have their reasons to believe and fear this.
Don’t believe my anastasis theory. Just don’t dismiss it so quickly before investigating whether or not it is possible to be an unsuspecting victim of psychic attacks.
There is still much to discover and unravel no matter what consciousness you are operating in.
I hope I have helped you and I will continue to be at your disposal for any questions along the way.
Sincerely,
Pi

PS: The objections I am referring to are not those of the AFT website nor the tagged objection of the forum DAO, but rather to a single question:
— Why do I continue to resist experiencing this and the next moment that I am living, in this and other places, alone and accompanied, with total joy and without any destructive thoughts and behaviors?

April 2, 2025
Good day, Pi!
Thank you very much for the descriptions of the principles of the PWR. I will carefully analyze them and apply them. As being cautious is part of my nature, I will definitely keep all that you’ve written about anastasis in mind. I want to avoid doing anything that might hurt this body.

Good day, H.
No need to thank me, because sharing these seeds and waiting for the fruits and flowers that will silently grow is more than enough for this anonymous nobody who lives in this garden called Earth!
Now a request:
Would you authorize me to post our correspondence on the DAO forum?
Our messages may help others to better understand the path without resistance. Your questions, and answers, were very pertinent and other people will identify with them. And, of course, your anonymity would continue to be preserved.
All the best,
Pi

Good day, Pi!
Of course, as long as my anonymity is preserved, I have no problem with you sharing our correspondence on the forum.
All the best,
H.

Now the one who thanks you is this other anonymous human being in the crowd!
In return for your kindness, I would like to share with you a response related to the content of your second email:

“… I’ve had PCEs in the past (although I haven’t had one for at least two years now, maybe more) and since then I’ve been reading about actualism and doing my best to apply the method (enjoying and appreciating this moment of being alive).
Since I haven’t had any PCEs for so long, I kind of feel I am at a plateau.”

The method proposed by Richard is not “perfect”, and neither is mine.
There’s no “one size fits all” method, and it is up to each person to do their homework. It is an individual task (which affects the collective), solitary (but not isolated from relationships) and creative (done with art) per se.
“Enjoying and appreciating this moment of being alive” is the effect.
The basic question to ask is:

“— What is stopping me from enjoying and appreciating this moment of being alive?”

Between the sensory stimulus and the cognitive response there is a gap that I have called “mindspace”.
It is precisely in this space that the subjective consciousness of an analogous Self has taken up residence. Not by chance, it is where emotions and feelings were constructed and stored (memorized) as well. The ego is the sum of all of them, and that is why there is the social identity (or hegemonic personality), and the other identities or marginal personalities associated with each emotion and feeling. If this ego and alter-egos were forgotten, even momentarily, due to a memory lapse, the sensory stimulus would be quickly processed, and even more importantly, a new sense would be awakened in the human body, that of proximity. I suspect that proprioception is an electromagnetic sense of spatial orientation, in which each cell acts as a magnet, which perceives the gravitational force drawing the body to the center of the Earth. And the atmospheric pressure on the musculature and bones (in the joints and in the skin/interstitium) crossing the innervated myofascial connective tissue enable an allostatic balance and the body resonates with the environment, creating a type of “proximity sense”.
The experiences of proximity at the dawn of humanity may have been stimulated by the consumption of hallucinogenic foods (1) and the feeling of awe and reverence typical of the animist mentality before the stars and the forces of nature giving rise to language (the art of tracking game by transforming signs into symbols and later creating writing (2)) which in turn became an organ of perception to teach and learn the consciousness of an “I” narrating in an imaginary mental space (the “mindspace”).

“Pure Consciousness Events” (PCE, Forman, 1980) also have their origin in brain chemistry: the body produces dopamine and also dimethyltryptamine (DMT).

Consider that a Pure Consciousness Experience is a universal experience of proximity (or intimacy, if you prefer), like déjà-vu/ jamais vu… and you have countless ways to induce such sensory experience at will!

(1) Wadley and Martin: origins of agriculture

(2) Daniel Quinn, The Story of B (1996).

Here is one technique that “I” applied for inducing a PCE by emptying that mindspace to allow for complete sensory immersion in the path without resistance for hours and often days. This technique “I” practiced upon waking.

Start on an empty stomach and bladder, lying on a mat or bed, arms at your sides. Feel the main points of the body that are pressing on the floor.

Activate the sense of touch aware of the skin merging with the cushion/ mattress.

Close the eyes and touch the roof of the mouth with the tip of the tongue.

Activate proprioception and taste.

Sustain this posture for four complete cycles of slow, deep, and silent breathing through the nose.

Activate smell and hearing.

Keep a rhythm consistent with the lung capacity and allow the body to relax the muscles naturally without collapsing the skeletal structure.

Check the major joints by feeling and increasing the space between them, starting with the legs and arms and then moving up to the vertebrae of the spine and jaw.

As soon as a generalized feeling of lightness envelops the body, as if it were floating over gravity, smile to relax the facial muscles.

Now you can get up.

Wherever you are, look for the window closest to you. Walk over to it, open it and look through it, breathe in and tell yourself mentally what you are touching, seeing, hearing, smelling and tasting…

Done!

The proximity sense experience happens exclusively in our physical interactions with the objective world. It will only end when the first emotion arises, because the “I” will be kidnapping in the memory some remembrance to lean on to lift its ugly head out of the unconscious where it had been put aside.

Peaceful, patient, solitary activities like this one with no immediate purpose disturb the ego that begins to get bored, lacking the chemical influence of some emotion. Despite any sabotage attempts, the next second is another chance and situation to play and win with the willpower of native intelligence and thus contemplate and immerse the body in pure consciousness again and again!

Enjoy!

Pi
