I take issue with, “…lacking visual appeal.” Sometimes when I’m reading the site, the background, textures, and the text, all start to pop.
There’s a lot to appreciate about the site but an AI assessing it using contemporary web-design values won’t clock it unless you ask it to.
This is likely what the Actualism Chatbot is referring to:

I tried asking various AIs to re-design the page and it either looks awful or like someone’s trying to sell me something
