I tried to signup with a different username and email address and got the same message. Is this a known issue?

I searched for the problem, @Srinath, and apparently was a very recent issue so un upgrade was released. I applied it but the process and the site interface crushed, so I had to do it manually.
Please check if you are now able to signup (and your friend, if you do well).
