Actualism is not an exercise or exam using the correct words but gaining an experiential/ existential understanding that the PCE is an experience outside of one’s ‘self’, and allowing the actual world to become apparent via going into abeyance.
Yes, I understand, and I have had the experience of PCEs so I recall nature of it not coming from me. I was trying to emphasise it not coming from me but seems I have done the opposite with poor choice of wording. .
It is not easy to express these things when you don’t have the confidence that comes from a high frequency or regular occurrence of such PCE’s and the additional factor that it gets harder to remember with clarity as time goes on further and further since the last such experience.
Vineeto:
The reason I emphasize this fact is because I noticed over the years that quite a few people are/ were under the illusionary impression that if/when perfecting their ‘self’ they could then ‘slide’ into the actual world, which is impossible.
This is what I am trying to get at, this is what I am only just beginning to understand. I can’t perfect myself, like I know that a self will always be capable of love, malice, sorrow, there is no special self. This is all me to my core, all of it the good, the bad, the ugly and the uglier. For some reason I was trying to make myself become some optimised/special self. Difficult experiences within the last year have shown that if not following the method the potential for any affective or harmful behaviour is just as possible as those individuals oblivious to what actualism is or their own internal state. It is like just being aware of actualism and now having had an experience of a PCE gave me a free pass. I stopped any form of accountability for my happiness and harmlessness.
Then the habituation of this way of operating is what I am aiming for. It really is so straight forward yet we are so cunning and self deceptive, so many different ways we can stray.
Yes, every moment is a fresh slate to work on that. Plus life gives plenty of challenges to test this beyond theory.
Richard has always been very meticulous choosing his words is because words reflect on your consciousness (thinking and feeling) and vice versa. Hence he took great care, when describing his experience of an actual freedom, something entirely new to human consciousness, using words that are unambiguous or giving specific dictionary definitions, which of the meanings of the word he is referring to. Those yellow tool-tips are part of these explanations.
Language has been developed by feeling beings and as such one’s first association with most words is an affective and or imaginative association, trying to understand from the familiar perspective. But when you have some down-to-earth experiential understanding about actualism and/or a memory of a PCE, making correct sense of Richard’s words becomes more and more easy.
So when you say “the act of the PCE is still somewhat spontaneous in occurrence” and then explain that “in British English, the word act is often used as a noun to mean a specific instance, deed, or single occurrence” [Emphasis added] (Cambridge Dictionary), then this explanation of the PCE is still ambiguous and prone to misinterpretation as an action of ‘my’ doing*.*
When I looked up primary definitions of the word “act” I found (just in those two examples) emphasising action and not just occurrence –
1. take action; do something
2. behave in the way specified
3. take effect; have a particular effect (Cambridge Dictionary)
1. Something done; the action or process of achieving this.
2. Senses relating to theatre and pretence
3. Phrases such as ‘in the act of, ‘Act of State’, ‘Act of God’, Act of grace’ (Oxford Dictionary)
Being more precise can only be of benefit to you, because your choice of words influences your intelligence/ thinking and vice versa. You already understood that “I have had the experience of PCEs so I recall nature of it not coming from me” so the more precise description would be “the onset, occurrence, eventuation, happening of the PCE”.

The aim of the actualism method is not to be a perfect ‘self’ but to minimize one’s ‘self’, i.e. use the affective energy of the ‘good’ and bad feelings and channel this very energy into the felicitous and innocuous feelings. Of course, simply knowing about the actualism method whilst not doing anything about the human condition in yourself does nothing to minimize the ‘self’. Just as well you recognized how you have been fooling yourself.

Vineeto: If by “act” you mean “a specific instance, deed, or single occurrence” – no. It is when “being sincere, naïve and happy and harmless” becomes a way of experiencing life, day after day, then magic can and will happen. Hence the actualism method is to be enjoying and appreciating being alive as much as possible.
Adam-Cl: Then the habituation of this way of operating is what I am aiming for. It really is so straight forward yet we are so cunning and self deceptive, so many different ways we can stray.
Not just habituation, you may also need to actively investigate those beliefs, concepts, dogmas, truths, which contribute to creating either virtuous/ loving or malicious/ sorrowful feelings. Once you get your attentiveness to how you feel up and running most hours of the day, you will enjoy becoming more and more aware of finer nuances of when and why your mood dips below feeling good – and then act upon it.

Vineeto: As you can see, being kind to yourself is tantamount.
Adam-Cl: Yes, every moment is a fresh slate to work on that. Plus life gives plenty of challenges to test this beyond theory.
