Rick, I enjoy problematising, playing with and complicating actualism in a bunch of ways, as many here already suspect. But my experience shows me that it is in the end the real deal
I know it’s the real deal Srinath.
Good question. I can’t see how some aspect of near actual caring, cannot be a part of this process – even if it is implicit rather than explicit. That doing it for other rather than ‘me’ is important. But it would be interesting to know how prominent this was for others.
Re: Second question, you are right. The thing is that near actual caring is a pretty specfic thing that happens in a particular context i.e. when one is on the threshold of self-immolating.
That was some other person asking those questions in 2017, but I appreciate the answer and the overall clarifications that have come in this thread.
It was a bit of a surprise seeing empathy being represented as being a major player late in virtual freedom, but it makes sense to me now, and makes sense how I’ve found my progress rather muted at times. With the ‘beer’ ascendant, all emotions are exquisite in their expression, including empathy. And then it’s just a question of going from merely feeling empathically, merely feeling caring, to an actualization / action-taking of near-actual caring.
